Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2.
It’s absolutely amazing to look back over forty-six years of living in freedom from addiction because of Jesus and note the similarities between those who continue living in freedom and the similarities between those who fall prey, once again, to their addiction. Simply put, those who continue living in freedom find their delight in the law of the Lord. They meditate on it day and night. The law of the Lord defines every step of their path. Conversely, those who lose their freedom to the bondage of addiction always have a casual step toward the wrong direction, which leads to intentional conversation about the wrong direction, which leads to a full investment in the wrong direction. (Walk, Stand, Sit)
Friends, find delight in the law of the Lord. Let it define your every step. And, if your steps have strayed, know that the law of the Lord embodies reconciliation, and redemption and restoration through repentance: turning and walking God’s path. Now, watch your step!
