Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34, Today is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2

“One day at a time…” is tattooed on both my forearms. When my son sobered up four years ago, we committed to having that phrase, in the other’s handwriting, tattooed somewhere. Mine is on my forearms. His is on his neck. Though the phrase echoes around AA halls globally, its roots are in the biblical witness and the words of Jesus. Living one day at a time is a faith principle that stretches all the way back to Moses and the Israelites receiving manna for one day’s survival in the wilderness, and, further, to the creation of the universe taking place one day at a time.

Let me ask you this. If living one day at a time is good enough for Jesus, and Moses and God the Father, isn’t it good enough for you? Doesn’t it deepen our trust in God’s provision? Doesn’t it remind us that God will see us through? Doesn’t it eliminate the confusion and disorder that accompanies worry? Doesn’t it uplift the beauty that we experience in living the salvation of God TODAY!! And isn’t that enough, just enough?
